Michaud encourages Maine veterans to seek services

WASHINGTON, DC – July 18, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Mike Michaud praised the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announcement that it is providing funding to help Maine’s homeless and at-risk veterans and their families. Veterans Inc. of Worcester, Massachusetts was awarded $1 million to serve New England veterans through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program, which is a critical element of VA’s plan to prevent and end homelessness among veterans. Veterans, Inc. subcontracts with ESM, Inc. based in Augusta to serve Maine veterans.

“The services made possible through this funding help get our veterans into stable homes and prevent those in tough situations from losing their housing,” said Michaud, the Ranking Member of the Veterans’ Affairs Health Subcommittee. “ESM can connect veterans to VA health care services, housing support, and vocational rehabilitation. They can also work with state and local programs to find the right mix of solutions for each veteran. I encourage Maine veterans to contact ESM to get more information on the services available to them.”

Michaud is encouraging Maine veterans to reach out to Michael Tilton of ESM, Inc. at 207-622-5946 to receive more information about available support services.
