Collins, King Announce $419,557 Grant for Scarborough Veterans Home

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 23, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $419,557 in federal grant funding to the State Veterans Home in Scarborough. The grant will help cover renovation costs for the facility’s heating and air conditioning systems, rooms, and windows.

“Maine’s veterans deserve nothing but the highest quality of care, and providing outstanding rehabilitative facilities is central to that important mission,” Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. “These critical funds will help to do that by directly supporting the renovation and improvement of the State Veterans Home in Scarborough.”

Built in July of 1990, the State Veterans Home in Scarborough is one of six multi-service veterans facilities in Maine.
