Senators Collins, King Announce Rural Development Grant for Community Concepts Inc.
United States Senators Susan Collins, Chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, and Angus King announced today that the United States Department of Agriculture has awarded Community Concepts Inc. in Lewiston $793,800 in grant funding to help 30 very-low and low-income families construct their own homes in rural areas across Maine. Through the Mutual Self-Help Housing Program, this funding will help families, through partnership with Community Concepts, build homes in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin, Kennebec, and Oxford Counties.

U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today announced that the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) has awarded a total of $2.25 million in grant funding to several Maine health coalitions and local governments to prevent youth substance abuse and foster drug-free communities in Maine. Of that funding, $1,125,000 will be allocated for nine new grant awards while the remaining funding will be allocated to nine projects in the state that have previously received funding from ONDCP.
