Senators Collins and King Announce More Than $400,000 in Grant Funding to Assist Maine Families Living in Public Housing

WASHINGTON, D.C. – December 01, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senators Susan Collins, the Chairman the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development, and Angus King today announced that several housing authorities and municipalities in Maine will receive a total of $439,537 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

HUD’s Family Self Sufficiency program intends to help low-income families who receive federal housing assistance receive training and education, find jobs, save money, and eventually become financially independent.

The awards are as follows:

Augusta Housing Authority, $32,484
