Request for Applications for Disbursements from Maine’s Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Trust Fund
Hallowell, Maine – (RealEstateRama) — The Maine Public Utilities Commission (Commission) has issued a Request for Applications for Disbursements from Maine’s Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Trust Fund. The Request for Applications was issued on July 20, 2016 and is available on the Commission’s website at: http://www.maine.gov/mpuc/electricity/rggi/ Applications are due on or before August 22, 2016.
The Request for Applications was issued in accordance with An Act To Reduce Electric Rates for Maine’s Businesses (Act) P.L 2015, Ch. 498. The Act requires that the Commission direct funds totaling $3 million per year for fiscal years 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19 to certain types of manufacturing customers in the State.
“The Commission looks forward to broad participation by customers in this application process,” stated Commission Chairman Mark Vannoy. A final decision on the applications and disbursement amounts for this fiscal year will be made by November 1, 2016.
