Snowe and U.S. Senator Susan Collins today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded $876,120 in homelessness prevention grant funding to the City of Portland. Governor Announces $11.4 million in Federal Recovery Funds for Wood Energy Projects

The law establishes a comprehensive program for homeless youth and runaways. The Department of Health and Human Services will enter into performance-based contracts with agencies and organizations to provide street and community outreach, drop-in programs, emergency shelter and transitioning living services.
